Thank you to everyone who gave to the SPCA during our annual Paws Appeal. We are so grateful for the support that we receive from the public every year – the work we do means the world to the animals, and your help means the world to us.

The SPCA Paws Appeal is the SPCA’s annual fundraising appeal. As one of New Zealand’s most respected animal welfare charities, we have been protecting and caring for animals for over 125 years.

We receive less than 2% of our funding from the government, with this funding ear-marked for rural cases only – those involving animals on farms across New Zealand. The other 98% of our funding comes from memberships, bequests, and donations from the public.

This year has seen some unbelievably horrific cases of abuse carried out on innocent creatures across the country. Our annual List of Shame highlights just a few of the most atrocious of these cases.

We need your help. It costs over $14 million per year for us to carry out our vital work for the animals of New Zealand.

Your donation will remain in your community, with all funds raised from your area going directly to your local SPCA branch. Your generosity will allow our branches to continue their crucial work for the victims of animal cruelty and neglect.
